Kids World Childcare and Learning Academy

Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families through local programs. Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the mental, social, and emotional development of children from birth to age 5.

Head Start programs support the mental, social, and emotional development of children from birth to age 5. In addition to education services, programs provide children and their families with health, nutrition, social, and other services. Head Start services are responsive to each child and family's ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage.

Head Start encourages the role of parents as their child's first and most important teachers. Programs build relationships with families that support positive parent-child relationships, family well-being, and connections to peers and community.

Coordinated Funding Request

The St. James Parish Early Childhood Community Network which includes, St. James Parish Schools, Woods Learning Academy, Kid’s World Learning Academy & Child Care Center, Anointed and Ordered Steps Childcare, and Bright Minds Learning Academy, is applying for the following coordinated enrollment funding request from the Louisiana State Department of Education.

Chapter 709, Part B of Bulletin 140 states that, “The lead agency shall provide an opportunity for each publicly funded program in the community network and the general public in the coverage area of the community network to comment on the proposed funding request prior to submission to the state department and shall include documentation of this process in the funding request."
