School Choice 
For students residing in St. James Parish, St. James Parish Schools has many offerings. Transportation is provided for most of the offerings. Students can choose to remain at their home-based school that is determined by their physical residence.
- The Career and Technology Center (CTC) is for high school students who have interest in vocational, technical, or industrial skills. Students can develop skills in culinary arts, nursing, cosmetology, agriculture, construction, welding and pipefitting. The CTC works with South Central Louisiana Technical College (SCLTC), to offer the following courses:
- Process technician
- Air Conditioning and refrigeration
- Drafting
- Allied health
- Accounting
- Business Computer Applications
- Financial Math
- The Gifted and Scholastic Center serves students in 3rd through 8th grades who have been identified Gifted or scholastic as per Parish Policy and bulletin 1508. This is a full day program that allows students to work in courses on their instructional level allowing the opportunity for advancement and enrichment. The Academy is located within the SMA. - Gramercy Elementary Magnet School (GEMS) includes students in Prekindergarten through 6th grade who have met grade level eligibility requirements.GEMS offer students the opportunity to excel in the performing arts. The Magnet School is located within Gramercy Elementary School. Applications are being accepted. After January 30th any available slots are based on “first come – first served” if all academic requirements are met. For more information, please call 225-258-4800.
- The Jumpstart Cohort offers students the opportunity to fast track toward an Associates Degree in Process Technician and Industrial Maintenance. For more information, please call 225-258-4571.
- Majority to Minority allows elementary students to attend a school where they would be a minority. Transportation will be provided. Applications are being accepted now until May 2, 2016. For more information, please call 225-258-4519.
- Preschool serves students with age of four before September 30th. Registration for Preschool is during the month of March and April. To register or for more information contact your elementary home-based school.
- The Science and Math Academy (SMA) offers high school courses for middle school students and dual enrollment university level courses. Students may take advance preparation courses allowing for more college credit opportunities. The SMA works in partnership with RPCC and Nicholls State University. - Title I School Choice allows for Lutcher Elementary Students the choice to attend another East Bank School. Transportation will be provided. Applications are being accepted now until May 2, 2016. For more information, please call 225-258-4504.
- The Virtual Academy includes online lessons and activities that are differentiated and personalized for students while they are given access to athletics and extra-curricular activities at their home-based school. A support lab, located at the CTC, is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Transportation is not provided. For more information, please call 225-258-4558.
