Family Reading and Literacy Initiative
St. James Parish Schools is working to bring awareness to the importance of reading in our community. The importance of reading, not only for our students, but for younger children who will become our students, is integral to their future educational success.
It is our goal to bring awareness to the importance of reading by providing opportunities for small children and SJPS students to collect personal libraries, participate in activities that promote reading and literacy, and find a love of reading beginning at a young age. We look forward to working within our community and with families to promote these ideals.
If you or someone you know would like to become involved in our Family Reading and Literacy Campaign, please contact Sarah Forsythe, SJPS Public Information Manager at sforsythe@sjpsb.org or at (225) 806-6984.
